The Venus Berlin Sex Show Rides Again in 2009 – Literally and Figuratively

Back to Berlin for the umptieth Venus Berlin Sex Show, where the great and good of the world’s sex toy and pornography trade assemble to show off their new toys and midget porn videos. It’s a tough life, but somebody’s got to do it – even in 2009.

Venus is quieter this year, with exhibitor numbers down 20% on last year by all accounts, though I haven’t been counting myself. And judging by the number of 42-inch plasmas displaying hardcore fisting, rimming and rutting DVDs, there’s still a limitless appetite for digital pervery – and the supply is doing its best to keep up with it.

The Web porn companies are still out in force, parading a bevy of, well, if not beauties then certainly buxomly animated girls who seem to slip out of their G-strings at the slightest provocation – namely, a moustachioed German bloke (or, more often, several) happens to point a camera in their direction.

Today’s the trade day, so the amateur ogglers aren’t out in force, but there still numerous enough to flock together as the slightest flash of gash. Still, keeps them off the streets.

Exhibitors have been generous with product samples. One almost flattened me in here haste to hand me a blue plastic bag, saying “I have three DVDs for you. Here.” in a voice that made it clear it was an offer I wasn’t going to be allowed to refuse.

Unsurprisingly, I am not now the owner of The Hangover, Little House on the Prairie and Robocop 2. Instead, I have the following movies to entertain me, should there be a DVD player in my hotel room:

Grosse Schamlippen 5 – I hear that it’s a vast improvement on the 4th in the series, but not nearly as good as episodes 1-3.

Japan Girls Style Nr 3 – I don’t think there’s much of a plot, but from the back of the box it appears to be German girls dressing up in the style of Japanese school girls and then finding themselves in various states of penetrative undress.

Purzel-Video Gesamtprogramm – Appears to be some kind of video catalogue of DVD filth, with highlights of chart-toppers like Gothic Lolitas Nr 8 (hmmm), Grosse Titten enge Fotzen 2 (I don’t know either) and Amateur-Piss 18 (no prizes for guessing).

So all in all, despite the recession, it’s plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose for Venus Berlin. Though there isn’t as much midget porn this time around.
