Worst shopping site ever

by Rich on April 13, 2007

Just got this hugely amusing e-mail promoting a new shopping site. I thought that I had somehow slipped through a wormhole back into 1998. Strike that – shopping sites weren’t even this bad back then…

Dear Merchant

My name is [Deleted] from ITXL ; We have launched two brand new pioneering shopping websites:

www.hyperoutlet.co.uk and Climate friendly / Green / Non animal tested shopping at www.climatemall.com.

This is a great opportunity for you to set up an online shop to sell your products in the virtual mall ; currently we offer you a 30 days completely free no catches trial for a test drive.

I can be assigned as your own personal agent where I can assist you through every step and assist in the setup of your shop and walk you through your shop administration system; I want you to have the best shop possible and can work with you on this.

Forecated traffic is over 100 million; these malls are the newest and best places for people to shop on the internet today.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

Hi Gary,
Many thanks for your comments. I’m glad they’re doing well for you, but think how much better they could be doing if they did some basics like designing a site that actually fitted on most people’s monitors…

Or didn’t have a “Hyperoutlet is loading…” page which takes a long time to load – if it loads at all, which it just didn’t on my computer.

Life’s too short for most people…

I don’t think it should be an either/or when it comes to promoting your site – you can be on edirectory and on hyperoutlet…

I objected to the way they described the site as “pioneering” – people stopped using the term virtual mall in 1998!

I’m glad it’s working for you though.

WOW you are right that has to be the worst shopping site ever haha you would think they could do a little better than that especially if they are going to send you a email like that.
